"Then the LORD said: If now, while they are one people and all have the same language, they have started to do this, nothing they presume to do will be out of their reach. " (Genesis 11:6)
With this, God points out that when people are unified in purpose, they can accomplish impossible feats. Therefore, unity in our communities is so important in our efforts to accomplish social justice. Our communities are safer and stronger when everyone can communicate and it begins with language. By educating parents leads to an educated family. Our communities are more prosperous when all people can succeed and give back.
This ESL ministry is for lifting our brothers and sisters so they feel equals in our community.
English class will restart in September - Please contact the Office.
English as a Second Language (ESL) class serves adult learners from our local community. The evening class is offered in order to accommodate our students’ work schedules. Our ESL class provides a key component for integrating into the American society for both immigrants who have recently arrived and those who have been in this country for several years.
Our ESL class is an English language study program for non-native speakers. Our goal is to help improve the students’ level of English so they can become confident and successful in their life goals and as members of the community. Learners find a place of support and culturally sensitive education. Topics covered include conversational English, grammar, reading, listening comprehension, writing, and vocabulary with a focus on practical language and everyday communication styles that enable adult immigrants to integrate more successfully into the greater community.
All of our instructors and tutors are volunteers! We are always looking for new volunteers to help our adult learners. Learn more about volunteering with our program below.
